it's not the current RPM. That's what the needle shows. The yellow lit hash marks do not always coincide with the needle. Take a look at this picture. I was doing 38 mph, my RPM was 1300 (as shown by the needle) and only the 500RPM hash mark was lit yellow.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Idle range..... when driving at 60mph? I do think it corresponds with the amount of work the engine is doing. But I was curious what it is actually indicating.

This may be a dumb question but wondering if anyone knows what the yellow means on the tachometer. Not the incremental marks, but the yellow color that changes with speed and / or RPM . I'm not talking about the tach needle (rpm indicator). But there's a yellow color that shows up on the...
