I’m looking at the Borla S-type cat back system for my ‘25 ZR2 2500 but wanted some first hand non YouTuber input from anyone that has one on their truck. I’m mainly looking for a better sound but don’t want it loud or to have an obnoxious sound level and drone in the cab while I’m at highway speeds. I’m on call for work and will have to start it at random times in the middle of the night so that is also a big concern for me at 3am, don’t want to piss off the neighbors if I have to remote start it in the middle of the winter while I’m getting dressed.

Fuck the neighbors. Fire it up! I start my bike at 4am regularly in the summer before work. If the neighbors don't like it, that's their problem. I gotta go to work.

I have had it in my 2022 since it was new. Love it on the road. Only issue is the cold start (first of the day) is load for about 15 seconds. If you put it into gear ASAP it will quite it down a bit. It sounds nice the rest of the day and IMO it not as load as some factory HD bikes that ride by me on the road.

Is it really load??? LOL

It’s not a factory Harley if it’s loud. We spend a significant amount of money to upgrade the sound. We call it paying the Harley Tax.

Why is it that there are no dual exit exhausts for the 6.6L? Well, other than I believe Flowmaster makes one.

They might lose too much back pressure and lose power or responsivness.

Gotcha.

Not sure too many folks around here actually change their exhaust on the 2500s. I never really hear them like I do the 1500s.
There's some pretty good sound clips on YouTube with different manufacturers. There's one guy that does alot and has db meter readings. He also does some custom ones. Can't recall the name of the channel, but you'll run into it cause it always comes up onnthe search.

This guy does alot of 6.6 exhaust.

Wonder what the drones like?
If you want good sound, you might get a little drone. That's why I like the Magnaflow. Cause you get that nice throaty V8 sound, but they do a good job with the resonator to kill most of the raspy and droning noise.

Yeah I have seen a lot of his clips in the past. Even the straight pipe didnt sound terrible. I do think though, since there arent any choices for dual exit other than FM, I may just change out the muffler. Not sure there would be a huge difference in changing out the cutback. I know most aftermarket are 3.5" vs the factory 3" but for the bang for the buck, I dont think its going to be there.

My 1500 sounded great with the muffler delete. I ended up with the Magnaflow system cause I didn't want the extra noise and attention. But its hard to beat the sound of these motors uncorked.

The 1500 I traded in for the 2500 had a s type borla on it. Loved it.
