Had the truck in last week to fix the power/home infotainment system buttons and got the call it was done. Went out to get in and when i hit the key fob unlock button, the driver door mirror started its normal unfold operation, but failed to stop in the correct position and it continued until it was completely 180 degrees from folded. Undrivable like that i went back in and the tech said yep, the mirror is bad and needs replaced. The warranty girl took pictures and now I have a mirror waiting to be replaced. Very strange, but the dealer didn't seem rattled at all and immediately ordered a mirror

Having issues with my drivers mirror myself. At first it was just whistling. They replaced the cap on it, no change. Had them replace the entire mirror and now the motor is weak in it. It opens and closes about 2-3 secs slower than the passenger side. There just is no quality these days. You have to wait to get all the good parts to have a decent ride.

It seems most of the time when the mirrors fold past the stop, it has some moisture that froze and allows it to keep going.

It has happened to me a few times. First time dealer replaced it no questions asked. Then I seen other people with the same issue stating it is moisture freezing.

Things to get the mirror working properly is keep functioning the mirror and hope u don’t burn the motor or warm it up to melt the ice via hair dryer or heated shop.

The times I have had it happen to me is the next morning after a wash or a frosty night.

The easiest way is to not fold them in the colder weather and hope someone doesn’t knock off your mirror.

I wondered about this. It was very cold the first time it happened and probably also freezing the second time

Update, had the mirror replaced yesterday. I believe its fixed, but I'll let it operate a few cycles before confirming. On another note, one thing i forgot to mention, when the original mirror would malfunction, during repeatedly opening and closing the mirror trying to get it to lock in the correct position, it would eventually "pop" or "snap" indication something internal was actually broken. it only did that a couple times.
