Here's an interesting article regarding consolidation of Detroit auto manufacturing for powertrains and parts. Definitely makes sense from a pure economic perspective.
But GM and Ford would surely fuck it up anyway, just like the jointly developed transmissions.
Truck and sports car guys would lose their fucking minds if they had to drive something that another brand had.
