DIESEL EMISSIONS DELETES

I think its an interesting milestone in the debate of the Clean Air Act and emissions equipment. However, until the laws are changed and codified, it doesn't have much teeth and you could still get hammered down the road when the administration is not in favor of relaxed emissions laws.

I think in some jurisdictions, the civil penalties could bankrupt a diesel mechanic/tuner business or any individual. It just takes the right DA and judges to bring the case and you'll be killed financially.

Yeah ..... So many different factors that play into laws and rules like this....especially all different levels Federal/State/Local .... I don't have a diesel.... so not that big of an issue for me.

That is somewhat good news for the folks who do this. Unfortunately, it will still kill any resale or really the ability to trade in your vehicle because the dealer is then liable to bring it into compliance prior to future sale. Even in a wholesale at auction situation this must be disclosed.

The other issue for me is the cost, to do it. Right now, you're looking at about $5k for all the tuning and hardware. Then labor, even if you do it yourself it's a big effort. I kind of decided the only way it made sense for me is if the laws change and manufacturers eliminate the systems, then just get a new truck and pay the money then.

I might reconsider if the laws change and costs come down with more competion. I live in a county that requires emiisions testing after 5 years of vehicle life. Even the commie republicans are in bed with the commie democrats on that cash grab around these parts.

I heard that the Phoenix area even checks motorcycle emissions? Talk about Bullshit. Those things get 50+ MPG. At least mine did.

They did stop doing motorcycles about 5 years ago. I have a Ducati Hyoermotard and deleted the cat and added a performance exhaust, race ecu, and Power Commander with professional dyno tuning that failed emissions. I had to adjust the air bleed screws on the throttle body in the parking lot and run it back through again to pass. They test it at idle.......LMFAO......just a cash grab.

I'm glad they got rid of it. what a joke.

I had a Super Tenere', what an awesome bike. I rode a GS, in the Alps and I wanted one. The salesman, who I knew from selling bikes, said the manager would not let them discount BMW at all! They did offer me some other accessories, but I had two of everything, so I walked. I'm glad I did. So I bought the Yamaha and I knew the GM. He gave me employee cost. We used to sell bikes together when he just got out of high school. He did me a hell of a favor. His sales guy bought my FJR on the spot. The GM told him how I maintain things and so he bought it.

Colorado has not attempted to check MC's yet! I like the Ducati's. I used to sell them. I had an Aprilia, RSV Mille, that was really nice too. Red of course, LOL.

Thats why theres sites like diesel sellerz.

Up in sunny Canada it’s a positive for resale, people are happy they don’t have to pay to do it.

Clyde @ west coast diesel performance was threatened with huge fines and even getting locked up.
I doubt anyone who lived though that would risk that due to the fact that when the democrats gain control of its subjects it will be the same old " we gotta protect the earth " bs.
They will have to pry my rotting fingers from my corpse to get the keys to my tuned LBZ crew cab 4x4.
🤣

Well, you never know when Trumpy is gone what will happen. The CLA was passed initially in 1963 and modified several times the last time in 1990.
