Factory power running board illumination question

For the trucks with the factory boards, i noticed my running board illumination lights don't seem to work if you approach the truck when its unlocked and open the door. Pull the door handle, and the lights quickly flash, the boards fold out, but stay dark. If you pull in from a drive, shut the truck off and open the door, they unfold and illuminate correctly. The dealer just gets that confused look on their face when i mention it. Anyone have the boards factory that can compare?

Id have to wonder if they were hooked up incorrectly. That is an odd problem but it's something they should be able to track down.

that's how they are. mine are the same way. my 2025 at4 and 2022 high country did the same. there are other guys reporting the same.

Ok, thanks for the reply. I find that as a strange glitch, and the dealer service department was very disappointing and wasn't any help when asked if that was normal.

it does seem like this behavior is actually a software issue. there is a bulletin out to address it. over on FB there is a thread for this. here is the bulletin number. I will have mine updated at some point.
