GM Lost a BILLION Dollars Because of THIS Engine!

Excellent video and analysis! I love these tear downs and input from experts.

Looks like ol Mary Big Wave Barra hogged out the chamfers in the journals and lost pressure with the water like viscosity of 0W20 oil. Now the bearings have no float, so they wear out quickly.

Surf's up suckas, it only cost you $75k to catch a big wave! That's Bogus dude!

That grey green oil is pretty much how both my 6.2L looked, but they looked and tested pretty right after that on the first two oil analysis. That's why dumping the break in oil quickly and then doing another early oil change is a good idea.

You can see the filter wasn't catching much of the crud and its essentially running through the motor and also loses the ability to float the hard bits cause it can't penetrate the tiny space between metal parts.

That motor definitely looked like it had left over casting debris or something else and probably why it failed the test when nearly new.

Ol Mary Leftover Debris Barra could fuck up a one car parade........yee, haw!

That video is great and scares me at the same time, i already got a new motor and have only put 1500 miles on it since i got it back, and the truck only has 22k on it, its already making a ticking sound at idle and i noticed that the oil cap said 0w20, i thought the new motors were taking thicker oil. I dont want to sit on the side of the highway again, that sucked donkey.

New engines get the same water for oil. I’d be scared too. It’s isn’t like GM has anyone’s best interest at heart other than investors.

Trade it in while you can.

Get a 2500 :D

Everything has its issues. Its about what you can live with and will cause you less of a headache while you enjoy it at the same time.

I traded my 2022 6.2L for a 26 2500 6.6L gasser. So far I love it.

what kind of milage are you getting with the 6.6? im thinking not very good.

I am only on my second tank. The first tank was 11.8. The gasser is not the best on gas but its basically a wash between it using regular and the 6.2L using premium.
