Has anyone done any aftermarket stereo and/or speaker/woofer upgrades in their ZR2?

What did you go with? The infotainment in these trucks suck! Never connects to my phone, gotta reconnect every single time, Sirius XM never picks up and plays without going either a channel up or a channel down to get it to start playing. Seems like the latest OTR made it even worse.
I’m curious to know what others have done to their ZR2

The forum search function is your friend...a lot of stereo upgrades on this forum...mostly speakers and subs. There is no good way to change out the head unit based on how it's integrated.

I think it would be virtually impossible to swap out the head unit as it controls everything digital.

Some people have gotten their systems replaced under warranty cause they were faulty or bricked. Might ask your dealer for some support on getting a new unit or contact GM customer service.

Did nothing on the 2500 ZR2 because I am only keeping it until the new body style comes out but the 2024 Bison Colorado yes. Replaced with Focal speakers, Alpine HDA-F60 and a AudioControl LC7i Line Output Converter to tune it.

Try holding the end call button until radio goes blank and resets itself. It's 50/50 shot sometimes works may take a couple times. Unfortunately can't change the head unit on the Silverado's. There are options now with loop back harness, and line outputs to totally bypass gm's stellar audiophile. I will eventually do that one day. For now I'm satisfied with gm kicker with dip switch settings 1up2dn3up4up5up6up with kicker volume control.

Getting ready to replace all the speakers, remove the Bose amp and add amps and subs in the next few weeks. As mentioned by others in this thread - replacing the head unit is not much of an option.

The only thing I have done is played around the with the EQ settings while selecting a song with good bass. I found something that works for me but truly this new bose system does not compare to the last GEN models prior to 2019

Just got mine back today. Looks like they replaced the amplifier and the OnStar module, and so far it’s working correctly and consistently.

Also added subs and an additional amplifier. If you are under warranty talk to your service advisor before adding anything electronic. Voids the factory electrical warranty

So there is an app in the play store called Infiniti. Some have mentioned that they could not find it, but I had no issue finding it and once installed it gives you a much better equalizer choice and the sound is extremely noticeably different. I'm very happy with it

I believe it is Android only.

Mine is Android 12. All ZR2s run android don't they?
Maybe I am missing something here so I need to be educated. Do you not have to download an app onto your phone or do you get this through your radio?

You download it on your truck, phone not needed.
Using your trucks touch screen connect to WIFI, go to play store, search for infiniti personalized sound app, download and open it then follow directions.
I think that's why people can't find it, they are trying to use their phone to download through carplay or android auto, it needs to be downloaded to your truck. You can leave the phone in the house.

I just downloaded it, and it cleans up the sound nicely so far. I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to really check it out
