Failed/Grenaded after the standard 36k mile warranty? I’ve read where most if not all of the ZR2 failures come before that mileage mark, and a lot being by 10k miles, if they were truly bad and were gonna fail. Curious to know if anyone’s ZR2 has failed due to the newer big crankcase/bearing recall, not including lifter failures. I’m currently at 30,600 miles and it runs like a champ and I love my truck, but gotta admit, I’ve been scouting out and tempted to trade it in for a 2021-2024 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road with the tried and true 4.0 V6 that is bulletproof!

My two cents, I don't worry about things I can't control. What I can control is the maintenance, upkeep, or getting rid of my rig. I'm taking care of 1 and 2, not considering number 3. If it is that much of a concern, dump it and grab the 4Runner and not look back.

in addition to that, every manufacture has critical failures of one type or another. Nothing is built to last these days. We have been conditioned to live in a disposable world.

Very true, just don’t wanna go through what some people have gone through with 2,3, and 4 engine swaps, tearing up their truck in the process, and/or paying for a truck that’s sitting at a dealership for months at a time! I was just asking if anyone’s ZR2 has bombed after the 36k mile mark or even after a passed pico test
