New here,
Ordered a 25 2500HD Bison Duramax. Its in at the dealer getting prepped, should take delivery next week. Traded my 2010 power Wagon with 90k miles. Hopefully this was the right move, not real thrilled with the look of the new rams, or the state of Chrysler currently, so figured I'd try the Bison.

I own Rams and Chevrolet. Way less problems with Rams.last few years. It goes how it goes, but there isn't any QC in the industry anymore. Just write big checks and head to the dealer frequently for warranty work.

The gas burner ram in 15 years and 90k miles really didn't have much for problems. Exhaust manifold gaskets, one ecu i think due to a close lightning strike, and the largest problem was the front axle pinion seal. A bit of Ram advise, if your front AAM axle pinion seal leaks, leave it alone! As far as the Duramax Bison, i purchased an extended bumper to bumper warranty.

Did you get an OEM warranty from Knapp or Black? They have the best prices on the web. Dealers rip you off on the warranties. Stay away from third-party warranty companies.

I'd didn't get the extended warranty yet. But for the first time in my life, I am considering adding one. I usually keep my 2500HD rigs a long while. I owned my last 2 for 10 years and hardly put a wrench to it besides normal maintenance. I've owned my 24 Bison for 18 months and I've been at the dealer more for this one than the previous 20 years. Mostly software, trim, and a couple recalls for bad parts.

I am there all the time for my 22 1500 ZR2 Same reasons, just a lot more frequent.

Nothing major yet, its just really annoying for the price of these trrucks.

I honestly don't know. This came from the dealer so I'm assuming it's not a Knapp or Black. The dealer told me they could not sell an extension to the factory warranty. My history with any sort of extended warranty I've purchased has usually come to an end with no benefits used. My biggest fear was purchasing a diesel with the horror stories of emission/fuel system problems. I have a John Deere track loader, so I'm well aware of costs associated with fuel/emission problems

Check your warranty paperwork for what type of warranty it is, the coverage and the cost. You may want to cancel it and go a better route.

The Hemi Ram is back baby!
I had two RAM's ...a 2019 loaded Limited 4X4 with the 5.7 and a 2021 loaded Limited 4X4 Midnight Edition with the eTorque. I actually liked the eT and had no issues with it. I only sold it because during COVID the dealer offered me $7K more than I paid for it :D

Friend of mine got a 3.0 diesel limited. They are nice. Sound system is pretty good too.

My 2010 power wagon with 4.56 axles just didn't give you a warm fuzzy feeling on the highway. Things are spinning pretty fast with that gear, and i just didnt want to be around when it decides to come apart. Gas mileage was probably 11.5-12 around town and a little better on the highway, but not much.
