I finally got around to installing the window trim decals (gloss black covering material) that I purchased from forum vendor RTG Offroad/Mixander Xi.

They look pretty good and definitely dress up the plastic trim that weathers easily.

Fitment was pretty decent, but not precise. I think it may have more to do with the variability in the OEM trim pieces than the product itself. You just have to be careful to size up the pieces to make sure they install cleanly. I trimmed the small strips at the edge of the rear side window as they were a tad long.

Not great pictures as the lighting was bad at the end of the day, but here's the product installed on B pillars and rear sliding window.

I'm not a fan of the trim decals on the rear sliding window, but I really like the B-pillar decals. Looks pretty good. With a black truck it blends in very nice.

Yeah. I'm worried about how well they will hold up in the extreme summer heat and sun around here. Also concerned how durable the black coating will be. I think it might scratch and swirl easily if it isn't hard enough. I'll know by 4th of July.

They would probably hold up just fine out here in Pennsylvania, but for you in the Arizona heat might be a whole different story.

I did the back window one, used 3m adhesion promoter to help the tape a bit. I should have trimmed the bottom one a little, its a nice snow/ice catcher as it is about 1/4" high to the opening of the slider. Might try to trim it on the truck in the spring or I'll get another set and modify it before reinstall.

Yes, I noticed that too. I figure for me it will collect dust. I lined the bottom edge with the window and my top edge sits about 1/8 inch higher than the plastic trim on lower portion. I had considered trimming it on my work bench with my utility knife, but was worried it wouldn't be straight and woulld look worse. In retrospect, I wish I would have brought it inside and dug out my xacto knife, cutting mat, and steel rule to make a clean cut.

What part of North Dakota are you from? We farm and ranch in Williams County. I do some oilfield business with my Dad there too.

I'm in Bismarck. currently freezing my you know whats off 🥶
I think I asked you that before. I know a lot of people in BisMan, I like that place.

Yeah, it was nice there last week. My boy is an electrician in Williston. So he said they got sent home early yesterday afternoon due to high wind and cold. He said the the guys on the crews complain more about it than he does and he spent his first 20 years in AZ......lol.

I'm in Phoenix area, so don't see it as much as I used to. Last time I was there in February it was so warm at about 28F. I was working outside in just my long sleeves......still got some Viking blood in me.....LOL.

Here's another photo today with better lighting. Hard to shoot straight on, cause evrything is a reflection.

I have the ones on the rear and like them ok. They have been there since I purchased the truck in October. Like Axe though, I'll let you know after the summer how they look. FL sun is definitely a killer. I didnt need the ones on the side since my truck came stock with gloss trim.

I like the look of the gloss trim but I also like the matte, no fingerprint every time I shut the door.
I'm not sure what happens to my plastic, but I get what looks like light spots on them and they don't come off. Even have them on the interior dash on my 1500. Drives me nutz!

Yeah I know what you’re talking about. I’ve not seen them inside though. Usually I see them on the two trim pieces on beside rhe cowl. On an older truck i cerekoted them to fix it lol

My plastic and trim is all starting to look weathered. Even when I use good cleaners anf protectors it doesn't seem to last long. Too much plastic fantastic on these rigs.

I used cerakote trim coat on mine when I bought it. The step pads are looking like they could use another coat but everything else is holding up well.
