i'm just over 4K miles and it seems to have gotten better with mileage, but I can't say for sure as I've never steadily checked the mileage. the current trip mileage typically indicates ~25 mpg between my house and town on a rural relatively flat road, 12 mile drive. the 25 mile average...

took 2 months for me to get mine back but that was before the recall kicked in (last July-August). dealers were hoarding the engines even then, though. my dealer had told me they found several engines in other dealership inventories but nobody would give them up because they had more trucks...

saw his other post in the other thread before seeing this one and replied there. to your point, that's what we got in my son's this past weekend, 9 mpg.

that son of a bitch just screams . . . you'll love it. took my son's 2500 diesel on a 250 mile trek this past weekend pulling his dual axle fifth wheel trailer (~4 ton) and hauling ~4 ton of brick on half the trip. couldn't even tell the trailer was behind us other than the trailer jumping...

now that you know what makes her happy, keep doing it. makes her so happy you're gone, she cleans your toys! if i went home and my truck or any of my toys were cleaned, it'd be an idicator that she moved someone else in and gave my shit to them.

i like it better. it lacks the cool exhaust rumble and the snappy horsepower, but i gained upwards of 8 - 10 mpg and a higher torque rating, not that the latter really matters as the torque rating on the 6.2 was sufficient for what i pull. plus, this one has a couple options the other one...

traded mine within a couple months of getting it back. joined the baby max club.

i'm a proud pretend diesel owner and i love it. sure, it doesn't have the getty up and go the 6.2 that i had does, but it doesn't run horribly bad, either. i don't have to lay into it wide open to make a pass, it goes just fine. and, in addition to the better fuel mileage on cheaper fuel than...

i wouldn't get too excited, yore likely going to be without your truck for at least a month, likely longer.

Whether you get the diesel or the 6.2, there's an easy fix to the auto start/stop. I went with THIS one and it works fine. It's a bit more costly than some of the others (yore dropping $70K+ on a new vehicle, what's another $100?) but reading this forum, there seems to be issues with the other...

you like yore diesel, too, huh? ;) on a cereal note, wonder how many miles the chevy EV would get pulling a ~2600 lb boat & trailer. i'd almost be willing to go the EV route with the chevy if it could handle a 380 mile round trip that includes treking a small mountain both ways on one charge...
