315/70R17 Falken Wildpeak AT4W too heavy for Colorado ZR2 Bison?

Thinking of changing out stock Bison 315's with AT4W. Had that tire on many 1/2 ton trucks and like them very much. Anyone have experience with 315's or 35's on a Colorado? Stock Goodyear MT weigh 52 lbs and AT4W weigh 74-76 (depending on source).

My tires run 73lbs. No issues so far and they are smooth as glass on the road. If I am not mistaken the tire size you are looking at have 2 ply sidewalls. The heavier duty ones have 3 ply sidewalls. UPDATE: Just saw some more documentation that that specific size DOES have 3 ply sidewalls.

You're running that Load F tire on your Bison? Is it a stiff ride with the F rating?

Not really only running 70 in them. I run a different size on my big oil burner 2500 ZR2 of that same tire. Took this a couple of years ago. Have a lot of this at the ranch in NM. Why 3ply sidewalls are a must for me.

Well that stinks, no thorns here in NH. My Bison has the I-4 motor. Did you notice much or any loss in take off acceleration or in 4-H with the heavier tires?

Not really still will break them loose just a little. This vehicle with the axles locked gets around better than even my jeeps did. Was very surprised to say the least.

Put new tires on my 2024 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison. Falken Wildpeak A/T4W 315/70R17. They are taller, fatter and have wider tread width the stock GY Territory MT. Dave you were correct, I don't really notice the extra weight of the tires when accelerating or braking and they ride very smoothly. Wheels are KMC GRS 17x9 -12 with 6 mm spacer/adapter 78.1 mm to 106 mm center bore.
