****6.2 RECALL HAS BEEN RELEASED*****TSB NEEDED

Recall complete. Passed their "test" got nice new oil. No extra warranty according to the dealership. They have to order the cap....youd think they would have some on hand already lol.
What and how are you doing this recall test ? I called 2 dealerships in Texas and they said I can’t bring my truck in unless the Check engine light came on ! I called GM last week and they said I have to wait until the letters are sent out and the dealerships have the said parts. Which is the oil and the oil cap? Since your truck passed are they offering you the extended 10 year/150000 mile engine warranty that was talked about according to Mr GregWrench YouTube channel.

relax and don’t let all the b/s this website seems to generate always lots of negative energy and gets you all worried about nothing be patient and like the world is going to end

There are three different recall bulletins running around. One that ends in 0000, 0001 and 0002. I believe they all say something slightly different. 0001 being for vehicles on dealership lots and the other two for the rest of us maybe. Mine fell under 0000. Mine said there was a remedy available and that was for the dealership to test (pico test) and if it passed, change the oil and throw a cap on it. I am not sure what 0002 says at this time. At this time, I got no extended warranty. When I asked the dealership about it, they said there wasnt one. I am still waiting on a cap and some other warranty work.

If I remember correctly, with the 0002 recall the mechanic is supposed to check the serial number on the motor and if it falls within certain numbers, it's an automatic engine replacement. Serial numbers that don't fall within the certain numbers get an oil change. BUT, I could be wrong. Maybe i read the 0002 recall wrong. But that's how I understood what I read.

I asked about my rig and my wife's today when I was in for trim work and neither one was active. It did look like it was on the MyShitty app.

My wife's rig is due for an oil change, so I'm gonna throw in some 10W40 and pull a sample for analysis on the next two changes. See if there's a difference after viscosity change.

Only bad thing is they don’t know when an engine will be available could be 6-8 months before I get one
As long as the truck doesn't die on you in the meantime, you'll be ok. Even if it does, from what I understand, GM has to provide a loaner for the time that your truck is down. If the dealer gives you a hard time about a loaner, don't cave. Insist that they give you a vehicle to drive, even if they have to rent one from Hertz or Enterprise. That's what I did. I raised hell about a loaner when my truck was in the shop for a week. Dealer said they didn't have a loaner available, so I went straight to the General Manager and bitched like crazy. The very next day Hertz Rentals called me and delivered a 2024 Equinox to my house. It wasn't a truck, but it was a decent vehicle to drive so I could get to work.
