****6.2 RECALL HAS BEEN RELEASED*****TSB NEEDED

I took my '23 Bison to the dealer today for an unrelated issue, and asked about this recall. I was told that the '23's haven't been released yet. I got home and checked my mail and I had received the recall letter. :ROFLMAO: The service advisor said GM may release some time in the next few weeks.

My letter says something like "hey we fucked up your shit, we"ll let you know when we get parts to fix it". "In the meantime, we have 5% financing and a free keychain for our loyal GM Customers."

Lol, mine said about the same thing.

On the up side, the new oil is the same that my Z06 uses. So, yay?

I was at my dealer today to get my cluster fuck tonneau replacement resolved.

He said that they had a meeting this morning and GM has authorized the recall warranty work on customer vehicles even if they haven't received the letter saying the vehicle is open for the recall. They now have the adequate caps and oil and bandwidth for that portion of the work.

He offered to do mine, but I didn't want to sit around any longer as I had already been there for two+ hours. Since my fucking tonneau parts weren't correct yet again, I'll probably do it next trip.

Also I asked him what the costs were for these replacement motors. He said surprisingly the motors were not expensive at about $3800, but authorized labor was just under 20 hours and approved labor rate was $195/hr. So with some miscellaneous cost it was less than $9k per motor. I was suprised it wasn't more.

Their standard labor rate is now $225/hr.

How long you been fighting with them about your tonneau cover? Seems like it has been an awful long time. Almost think you should get some type of compensation for all of your time goin to the dealer for this problem.

Not me, I'm gonna make sure i go in for everything thats a POS on this rig. Half the visits i do are for other issues. Gonna do the hood paint right before warranty expires. I'm hoping the motor and transmission goes too and some more trim shit falls apart. I'm going for records here with this shitboxI want them to lose money on this truck. Fuck GM and their shitty suppliers.

Haven’t had my hood paint done yet either. I almost did but the body shop I would have had to take it to didn’t have a clue. I got the feeling they would mess it up more than fix it. So I didn’t let them touch it. Is a damn shame too. I finally got the overall paint nice from the previous owners neglect.

When the wife can drive again, they will be fixing my seat frame on the drivers side and the trim on the console where the seat is tearing it up.

So, we need more info. Can someone who is an insider find and post the TSB for this recall? I want to know what they are actually doing. I'm afraid that due to the volume of vehicles affected, they are going to just change my oil and filter and pretend it's all good...
That’s exactly what they are going to do if there is no fault code detected. Change the oil to a higher viscosity, new oil filter, new oil cap, insert for owners manual and up warranty to 150k miles. If you throw a code, they will keep your vehicle and order a replacement engine.
