I am not sure if this is a problem and issue yet. I took my spare tire off to adjust the heat shield. I noticed what appears to be sidewall tire wear and some missing undercoat. Calling the dealership in the morning.

that is no good bro. they removed mine when they did exhaust....never looked. let us know how you make out.

I do believe a recall was issued for spacers for the spare tire for this reason.

Mine was done when my radio was replaced.
Must be a somewhat new recall as mine was in to get the rattling back seat fixed a couple months ago.

I had a recall done involving spacers to adjust how the tire rests.

The dealership said they aren’t aware of any recalls associated with the spare tire. Will be bringing it in next week for them to look at.

Pretty sure I had heat shield and spacers as mentioned above, but I also had one of the first ZR2’s so maybe they fixed in later trucks prior to shipping?

Just curious what the dealer did to fix the rattling back seat...I'm noticing that rattling noise on the passenger side rear seat. It kinda comes and goes but its annoying when it decides to rattle.

I believe they took out the entire rear seat, tightened/lubed the bolts.

Took the truck to the dealer this morning. According to them, Chevrolet is aware of the wear caused by the spare tire and the rust coating on the frame is not meant to be permanent.

I did all of the things suggested by others (one-at-a-time and rattle persisted) and had even scheduled a service appointment. Then I saw a random thread on another site. I crawled underneath and examined the exhaust manifold heat shield!! It was tight but one of the corners was folded back into the truck and there was a clear wear mark. Reached up, folded it up and bam - noise was gone. I took the whole back seat apart and it ended up not being inside but outside was a 2-minute fix! Ahhh the silence!

What did you do for your rear seat rattle?
