After a few years of going back and forth between getting a 19 C7 Z06 or the newest Silverado ZR2 Bison.... i guess you can figure out what I went with. From Fort Worth, i took a 20 hr round trip turn and burn to Kansas City and only spemt 45 mins at the dealership to include a 20 minute test drive. Was able to secure a 6 month used 2023 Bison in Steling Grey Metalic. Looking forward to hear everyone elses expierence, upgrades, and meetups if in the area!

sweeet rig! welcome.

I think you're going to like it, so far it's exceeded my expectations. I bought the Bison package as well , it's the most overpriced option I ever got but it's kind of cool.

If you plan on getting off the pavement at all you might want to do something about those steps they look super low. the high clearance steps are probably the best way to go , I had to do something the rock sliders didn't cut it for several reasons.

Oh im way ahead of you, I immediatly bought some high clearance bars/steps... trying to sell the steps and rockers on here currently. So far, i love this thing!

They're great pickups. I own a TRX as well and I expected the ZR2 for my wife to be a big let down in comparison. but for everyday driving and running around on USFS and BLM roads the ZR2 is better. doesn't have the power and handling of course but for real world use the ZR2 is great.

What about the rock sliders didn't cut it for you? I have the sliders with the removable assist steps.

I have to say that is a very nice truck! I have the exact same one! Color and everything. Just picked it up last weekend outside fo Houston.

Do you to do any off-roading? If so what's your favorite place to go here in Texas?

For me, they were too low. I was able to put on a set that sits higher and closer to the body.

What steps are those? Are they a different type of slider or are they a step?

I enjoy the functionality of the sliders(I had sliders on my last truck and they saved me several times where a step would have not don't the job) and the removable assist steps make it much easier for the wife and kids to get in.

Nice! And I havent yet here in TX, but would love to! When I was stationed in Cali, BLM land was everywhere so i would off road all the time in my previous truck.

I put on some from IronBison. The are both steps and sliders. Way more practical, and you dont lose clearance like you do with the aev assist steps. My kids and wife love the new ones way more as we all agreed you kinda have to slide out of your seat to step on the assist step.

Yeah we don't have much here in Texas. Alot of places in East Texas are more mudding type places. But you can do some beach cruising along the coast. There are a few off-road/Adventure parks that are more rock crawling stuff in the hill country and the panhandle. Or you can go down to Big bend. But thats really about it.

Are they rated to hold the weight of the vehicle in an off-road scenario?

I like the way those look better than the drop down steps for sure. I want function of form though. And I just have to remove the steps when. I go hit the trails and I have fully functional sliders.

Mainly function, my wife's only 5'4 so I needed something for her to get in. and I don't care for the looks of any of the add on steps.

The other thing that's huge is rock chip protection, nothing works better than running boards and a set of Weathertech flaps. we have rock on the pavement half the year around here and 99% of the USFS and BLM roads are gravel. with rock sliders my paint would get trashed.

The rock sliders might look good but they're silly for 90% of people myself included. first off if I need rock sliders I'm not taking an 80k pickups there I have a UTV for that. and most of the time it would be illegal to use that road anyway. kind of like the TRX, set up for high speed desert off-roading, yeah like I'll do that, never.
