L87 Recall remedy letter

Has anyone received an official recall letter from GM in regards to the N252494000 L87 recall? I just got off the text prompt with GM Canada and they said the same thing my dealership said 3 weeks ago; that here was no remedy available and to wait for a letter from GM.

I haven't. But funny that on mine under 0000 it said there was a remedy and the dealership called me to schedule my "test".

I'm told because GM Canada is separate entity from GM America that they have different policies, which is concerning because in the recall notice on the Canadian website there's no mention of the 10 year extended warranty if I show no signs of engine damage. I'm pretty annoyed by this and concerned they're going to try and opt out of offering that same coverage here in Canada. Maybe because we don't have a class action lawsuit like the ones you guys created?

Just got off the phone with GM Canada customer support, they just gave em the weakest non-answer ever in regards to an extended warranty if my vehicle was to pass inspection and get the OW-40 oil. They offer no matching extension of the powertrain warranty "at this time" as they "Are focused on finding a solution to the matter at hand."
Wow... Looks like we're going to need to create a class action lawsuit up here in Canada to get GM to honour an equivalent offer. Corporate bloodsuckers.

Not everyone here is getting an extended warranty either. I didnt. Luckily I am covered anyway due to the service plan.

At this time, they are currently negotiating the deportation of Brad Marchand to Canada, so no warranty service will occur until that scumbag leaves here.

Nope not yet.... Thought I read somewhere it was not supposed to go out until July

The dealership told me that they are doing a phased release of letters. They also told me all had passed the scope to this point. I am not on the list yet, check back in two weeks.

Yes, they’ll all pass the scope test. It’s designed to appease the NHTSA and kick the can down the road towards warranty expiration.

I got one, too... haven't opened it yet. Probably give you a free oil change if they win, and the lawyers take all the money...

anything is possible including enforcement to replace the crank and or the motor. i got the oil changes handled myself, but im thinking of ordering a crank and whatever other parts to correct this milly engineering issue. have a machine shop put together for me. no sense on waiting for a miracle, and yes, i do know finding a good law firm is a task in itself. people dont know until they try.
