New member here. Coming over from a 22 tubdra trd pro. Loved that truck, but the manner in which toyota is handling the recall for hybrid vehicle owners made me bail.

I understand the recall on the 6.2 and after reading and talking with a service friend im comfortable with it. I also, after reading a lot use L9 exclusively.

2023 Bison, 6.2, 3070 miles, 55k seemed like a fantastic price that i couldnt pass up. Gas mileage? I dont care, my tundra on 35's saw 14 on avg. Thankfully those steps are easily removable for when i go off roading.

2 questions:
1) slider options that have higher steps, similar to that on the colorado
2) tonneau options with the sport bar.

Thanks

Hybrids are not included in recall. Non- hybrids are on list of replacements. They get new crate motor, new turbos, and essentially new anything that oil touched. Loaner is given whether scheduled recall or motor failure.

Hybrid gets rebuil motor, no turbos, nothing else replaced. Warranty work and whatever rental car package you have. These are done on an case by case. There are no motors waiting for you attached to your vin. I know guys waiting months

Any explaination for that? Seems a bit odd that they would do, essentially, the polar opposite for the owners of each type. So, dumb question...Does the hybrid have a different engine or lower incidence of bad engines?

Same everything. Their reason for nit putting on recall is the battery. They say that the battery will leave enough power to drive off a road safely. Which has been proven to be false by the many that have died and not moved another inch. That battery is for power not propulsion

Ok...That makes sense to me. Not right to treat owners like that, but some corporate schmuck made a decision based on what he thought he knew.
