Yeah, I see that this is his second video of the 6.2L teardownThis came out 5 hours ago
This one is much better because this is a documented recalled engine, as opposed to the first which was difficult for him to research. It’s quite honestly shocking to see how horribly this example failed. All 4 main bearings spun and a piston bearing fused, that’s wild. We got the recall up here, too, but we haven’t received our letters from GM about the official response, so if we go to our GM dealerships they won’t do anything about it without the notice from GM.Yeah, I see that this is his second video of the 6.2L teardown
I don't know much about motors, but generally speaking, when one main bearing spins it can cut off oil flow to the rod bearings...Maybe not in this case. But, not being an engineer, when a crank's journals aren't aligned with each other and you force that alignment with main caps torqued, no oil in the world is going to keep that crank away from the plain bearings. I'll let the more knowledgeable folks chime in.All 4 main bearings spun and a piston bearing fused, that’s wild.
We haven't received our letters from GM yet either. Letters are supposed to go out, I believe, on June 9th.This one is much better because this is a documented recalled engine, as opposed to the first which was difficult for him to research.
