I need a new set of tires. The stock GY’s are crapping out at 27k miles (tread blocks peeling off, chunks out of blocks, etc). I have not rotated ‘em regularly, but have maintained pressure well and no severe offroad use, etc. It’s happening in all parts of the tires (not just shoulders). Thought about pursuing a warranty claim, but these tires are only ~$200 new, so that verifies how poorly constructed they have to be when all others cost 2+ as much (& how little a claim award would get me… not worth trying).

I drive mostly on road, some towing up to 5-6k lbs (utility trailer with utv/etc, bay boat). I want a tire same size, not any shorter, etc.

What have you guys went with and how do you like ‘em, your use, etc?

Thanks!

I think the most popular brands for HDs are Nitto, Toyo, Goodyear, and BFG. I also think General, Cooper, and Falken get some love out West.

I have had great luck with Toyo and Nittos on HD trucks. You pay the price, but you can get 40k miles and they are heavy duty and stand up towing. You definitely have to rotate them every 3000-5000 miles if you want them to last.

I think I am going to go with the Toyo AT3 when I'm ready this fall. I may go for the new Toyo RT Pro, but since I'm towing heavy and only light offroading, not sure that is the best solution.

I only have about 17k on my stock Goodyear MTs. I was gonna switch them a long time ago, but decided i liked how they ride and towed heavy over long distance. Mine have had a few rotations and the tread still looks good. No chips or funny wear. I don't think they would break 30k miles tho, as the soft tire compound won't last.

I'm up to 46K on my originals (which are at ~90%) on my '24. Dealer & local tire shops advised me not to waste my $$$.
I rotate every 5K; 65% highway, 25% city, 10% off-road, no towing yet
