Hi all,

So I’ve had my ZR2 for about a year now and I’m finally upgrading my wheels and tires. I’ve researched as many of the threads as I can on this forum and I’ve purchased Ridge Grapplers at 295/70 with Arena wheels 18x9 with +1 offset. I’m keeping the suspension completely stock for now, which means I have a few options; let it rub, trim bumper and rear plastic or install a bumper spacer. I’ve looked at Axe’s post about post on how to trim and I’m prepared to do that but before I cut the bumper and do what can’t be undone, does anyone have any before and after photos with the peak bumper spacer? If you have done the bumper spacers do you have any opinions on if you’d do it again if you have to? That would help me decide if I want to space it or trim it.

Thanks for anyone that can help.

Before the peak bumper spacer was available others have used their own spacers or washers and it worked just fine. I know there are pictures of bumpers with spacers on this forum.

I’ve searched a good bit and there are a few photo but not many and I couldn’t find any comparison photos.

Thanks for making that trimming post by the way, I’ll be using it as a guild if I go the trimming route. I’m hoping since I’m not pushing to the -18 offset I won’t have to trim as much. But I’m guessing that’s a big dream at the moment.

You can always set it up with new wheels/tires and give it a test. Just be prepared with the spacer or trimming tools if you need to create space. That's how I did mine......put em on, knew it was going to be too close. Did a lap around the block slowly and made sure I knew where the rubbing was occurring and then trimmed accordingly. Only took a couple hours of testing, trimming, and fitting.

The biggest problem with mine rubbing wasn't actually the front bumper, but the rear wheel well. I think you'll want to trim that regardless.

Yeah the rear is definitely the bigger concern for sure. The members on here have documented it very well so I was aware of what I was getting into. I’m likely going trim vs spacer. I’m just really curious to see how it looks. 100% agree with the put them on and look, adjust, look and then adjust again. Same as you.
