I think if your don’t have a good offset wheel a spacer couldn’t hurt. Most of my rubbing is on the plastic behind the tires and wheel well lining - confirmed my wheel is -18 offset.
Prolly should add I love the BDS lift after a year of use, but I have had to retighten the front end multiple times to avoid clanking noises. The front frame drop bracket in particular and add in it’s a Chevy with normal front end problems it does keep me busy I guess…
Has anyone else here experienced the resonator flap in front of your muffler to rattle? Lower speeds mine rattles and I’m about it to weld it open here soon. It’s not a horrible noise but is annoying. I did do a muffler delete, which I don’t think caused it, but who knows.
So I didn’t add spacers, but maybe I should. I put on -18 to -22mm offset fuel 20” wheels (can’t remember if 18 or 22) and they rub even after I trimmed a good deal off the front bumper - I’ve read it’s hard not to get 35” tires to rub…
I’m going to do a deep dive now the weather is cold here...
I have the Chevy branded tonneau cover and no complaints (used my points to get cost down). I’ve had rough country and truxedo in the past and this one is my favorite to date. The install fits the holes in the rails perfect (behind the plastic) so the most secure roll up tonneau cover out there.
Did something similar to @AXE and trimmed the front bumper this morning - no more rubbing. Only minor trimming and bracket shifting needed in the rear front wheel well.
Do not use a grinder with a cutting wheel. Reciprocating saw or dremel Is best.
Just picked up my ZR2 from the shop - a couple hours ago and pretty stoked. 4” BDS lift kit installed with 20x10 Fuel Wheels and some 35” Nitto Trail Grapplers.
A couple notes:
- The back wheels align perfectly to front (front does not go wider than rear)
- Even with -18 offset wheels I’m...
Lift is Monday - will talk to the shop after and see what their interest is to help - buy me some time until ready to give my truck up 2 weeks for the install and ecm swap….the one part that sucks.
Oh and just in case anyone has a ZR2 in Michigan and wants the HP authorized dealer list here it is.
These are all the shops in Michigan that can help you!

I think I am talked into the supercharger. Haha. I have never done that to a truck, but think I’m going to go for it. 650 hp won’t hurt when my lift and tires are installed soon!
There is a company in Michigan doing a supercharger too that looks solid and they have HP tuning as an option...
