Turns out it was a faulty torque converter after all. Unfortunately, I still had to pay for the new max air flow sensor, and the throttle body cleaning because of the K&N air filter mod I had done. The torque converter was covered under the drive train warranty. So I am out $400 on a $3k repair...
That’s exactly what they are going to do if there is no fault code detected. Change the oil to a higher viscosity, new oil filter, new oil cap, insert for owners manual and up warranty to 150k miles. If you throw a code, they will keep your vehicle and order a replacement engine.
