I don't doubt that you never have...Just as thousands of 6.2's have never had valve issues. But they happen...And the "smarter" these ECMs get, the more things like that will happen.

True story: The European motorcycles (Ducati for one) are now using ECMs built by Mitsubishi that are so good at "learning", they will over-ride inputs from an external controller like Dynojet, rendering them moot.

I had a 2005 HD 2500 with the 6.6 Duramax that l purchased new in 05. The salesman told me that l should go to the local truck shop down the street and have an Edge programmer put on it, so l did. No motor issues and the programmer definitely helped. l had an issue where it would not go into 4 low. Took it back for warranty repair, no need to remove the programmer becuse this issue was not engine related and it had nothing to do with the issue, and secondly the salesman is the one who told me to add the programmer. Later that day l get a call from the service manager to inform me that my warranty was officially voided because of the programmer. l will say it got pretty ugly but l had no dealer support and ended up trading it the next day for new Cummins.

Yep. You did void your warranty. Never listen to a salesman!
