2nd ZR2 just landed…fingers crossed

So, my first ZR2 had paint peeling issues 24 hours after delivery. Dealer kindly reversed the deal, and I was able to back out unscathed. A few days later, I was able to luckily find another ZR2 four hours away that was available. It landed today and high clearance boards and ERG window deflectors were immediately installed. Fingers crossed this one has no paint peeling issues. I pick up tomorrow morning.

I've never had the window deflectors on any of my trucks. What is the advantage of those, besides you may like the look of them? Is it more wind noise or water protection in rain and you can still drive with the windows cracked?

I like to feel the breeze in the rain sometimes, as well as for smoking although I have yet to do that in my truck.
I also use them when parked in the heat to help keep it cool.
