****6.2 RECALL HAS BEEN RELEASED*****TSB NEEDED

That’s what I did, loving it so far. 15k miles since February. The zr2 setup is pretty slick from factory on the HD
Currently debating the Diesel and HD ZR2. Gonna pull the trigger on a build this week.

Anything irk you about the HD?

BTW they truly add 100k miles and 6 years to your warranty after the engine swap. Just can't go through that experience again. I was solo luckily.

If your not towing a lot, the HD is a lot more expensive to own and operate over the long haul, so thats the biggest trade off to me. It's a great truck and is suitable as a daily driver, but your mileage won't be any better than the 6.2L. The 1500 is much more fun to drive and a lot better around town because its more agile and maneuverable.

I can't do the things I enjoy doing with out being able to tow a lot and heavy. So for me a 2500HD is the best choice. But the 1500 is probably the most fun truck I've ever owned, maybe my 97 S10 ZR2.

If the 1500 would have had a regular engine in it I would have went that way myself. However , since they don’t, I went with the 2500. Not as maneuverable and gas is a wash compared to the 6.2l. I don’t regret it though.

I loved driving the 1500 - for the reasons stated, maneuverable, ride phenomenal, great hunting truck out west, wife could drive it, etc.

I took crap on the forum but when the 6.2 started having all the issues but I saw the writing on the wall with GM and I was out, flipped it (super glad I did now). I actually went with the 3.0 1500 first and if I went back to a 1500, I would still go back to that motor. We will see what they do in ‘27 but I’m reading DFM is back on the table for GM….which negates a gas option for me. I simply do not believe GM can get it right.

The 2500HD zr2 is the best driving HD from the factory -I’ve let guys drive it on the farm or on hunting trips and they all comment on how it handles, performs, etc

it’s big. I have an 06 and 16 Chevy HDs - parked beside each other it’s crazy how big these trucks are getting. unless you’re used to bigger HD trucks with some lift, it will take a bit to get comfortable. My wife won’t drive it. As stated, not nearly as easy to get around.

The payload though is where it shines - you can load SO much more for hunting, camping, whatever trips and it doesn’t sweat. If burdened down and pushing it, the 3.0 would drink DEF, payload maxes quicker than you think, handling degrades quicker, etc

I tow machinery, hay, and cattle for the farm as well and have been very happy with its performance.

Thanks for the thorough feedback. Supports my decision of 1500 Diesel ZR2, gonna go with the new Cypress Gray color. Dealer doing the lift/trim for 35s and swapping my wheels, i have less than 500 miles on my 35 nitto recons.

Hey guys, just a quick update and saying thanks for all the help and advice.

Looks good! Does it have the 8 cylinder motor again? I only know their diesels cause I use them for work.

I've seen a few around, replaced the TRX from what I read. Thought it was the inline 6 (I6)? Probably pretty torquey, wonder how it sounds with the exhaust. Good luck and enjoy the new ride!

No, V6 twin turbo 540hp. It makes the 6.2 feel sluggish in my opinion.
My Dad bought one in late October, but I haven't driven it. He said it has plenty of power. I have always liked the interiors of the last couple Laramie Longhorns he has had. Really nice materials and layout. I hate the gay dial shift knob, maybe they did away with that.

When I had a Ram for a rental when my 1500 was in the shop, I can say the seats were more comfortable than the Silverado. Even the rear seats, my boys loved them because they would slightly recline. I also liked the way their screen seemed more integrated. I just didnt like having to use it for everything. Id rather have some physical buttons for stuff lol.

Nice!, In all honesty, If I was in the market for a 1/2 ton and I didn't tow much. I'd get a RHO level 1. I've liked them since they came out and I'm not a Dodge fan. They are sharp trucks and that motor and transmission combo seems to be great so far. Not crazy about a turbo V6. But they do make plenty of power and it's not like the V8 half ton options are proving all that reliable, lol. The ram Tungsten has a beautiful interior and has a Klipsch audio system
