****6.2 RECALL HAS BEEN RELEASED*****TSB NEEDED

There’s a lot of people dumping there zr2 6.2 and the price reselling them at dealers are still crazy high ,seems like most people don’t want to deal with the issue, the 6.2 motor is like a bomb ready to explode or test of time,I traded my in after engine blew and was rebuilt but loss faith in what will happen later .GM wouldn’t give me a extended warranty other than 12/unlimited miles {SAD} so I traded it in and they still haven’t sold it LOL wounded why?LOL Got a ZR2 3.0 LZO and it better on gas mileage way better than the 6.2 but not as much power ,only goes to say that trucks are made as a work vehicle and not a race car,if you want power get something else ,I bought a new SS blazer EV electric and 613 hp 3.4 in 60 that fun and no gas to burn in my pocket $ at the pump

Recall complete. Passed their "test" got nice new oil. No extra warranty according to the dealership. They have to order the cap....youd think they would have some on hand already lol.
So they aren't extending the warranty for ones that pass and just get the 0w-40? That's complete BS if that's the case. It either has a defective crank or it doesn't. Them changing the oil viscosity suggests it does, lol. If it does, extending the warranty should be the minimum. That's crazy. Trade in value is about to tank because id guess a bunch of them are going to get traded. I know I'd trade mine if I still had it.

I don’t think everything is settled yet. I was getting my oil changed at the dealer Monday and they asked if I wanted to get the engine warranty work done. So I asked some pointed questions. The service guy than had to read the entire bulletin. He had no answers because the system says remedy not available. This jives with what all the info on line says. So warranty no warranty I guess we will find out.

I thought you already changed oil?

I did change my oil to the 0W40 about 1500 miles or so ago. I needed some warranty stuff taken care of too so I figured might as well get the recall completed while it was there. I hate going up there. After I got it home I had to clean up oil on the filler neck where they spilled some down it but didnt clean it themselves.....

The new 0W20 they just put in should help flush out that 0W40. I'm gonna have to change that poll now.

Can only go off their invoice that says 0W40. The P/N associated with it was the same Mobil 1 Supercar I had already put in it.
I have trust issues. When I got my freebies, I had anxiety for 3000 miles.

I have mine schedules for tonneau cover replacement next week. I might have them do mine. Looks like the recall is now active on my OnStar.

Believe me, I don’t trust them as far as I can throw the truck.

So change your name to electric boogaloo boy...

Looks like you do get the warranty if you pass inspection and get the oil. This video talks about the bulletin from GM about it.

Just going off what the SA told me when I asked about it. Not sure what I can do beyond that.

Well, when I see it listed on my warranty page I guess that will be definitive. They didn’t even provide the manual insert lol

I just got a free oil change at the dealer yesterday. According to the SA computer, my truck still says "No Remedy " for my recall.

As far as trusting them, not a chance. Along with the oil change, they rotated my tires. Since they had the wheels off I asked them to check my brakes. When I picked up my truck the SA said "no charge for the oil change, but brakes aren't covered under the warranty ". Would you believe they tried to charge me $79 just for looking at my brake pads, even though they already had the wheels off for the tire rotation? Of course I told them there was no way in hell I was paying that.

LOL.........I rotate my own tires too, cause I like to look at the brakes. When I need to balance I tell them want to walk back there and look. Discount Tire is always cool about me being in their shop.

Well, I always do all of my own work also. But I had a free oil change at the dealer, so, with the recall out I took my truck to the dealer for the free oil change so I had a good record of it so they don't give me a hard time in case I need a new engine for the recall. The tire rotation was included with the oil change so I told them to go ahead and rotate the tires and while you're there can you check the brakes. Then, when they tried to charge me $79 for just looking at the brake pads, I laughed at them and told them to kick rocks. I'm not paying for that. That was absolutely rediculous.
