****6.2 RECALL HAS BEEN RELEASED*****TSB NEEDED

You keep it long enough you'll get a new engine! They know there isn't one of these cranks in spec. There wasn't a coincidental run that just happened to roll.off in spec. The oil viscosity change is only to help slow progression and prolong customer pain. That's how they have it planned to triage these turds.

I'm about to find out on the Tahoe. Switched to 0W40 just to see what happens. Will be interesting if the iron particles are better or worse.
Good luck!

With varying dealer experiences, figured I'd share mine from Fri. I have a 22, was down to 8% oil life, went to do dealer requesting they complete the recall. Dealer confirmed my vehicle was part of the recall, but GM has not authorized the work to be completed yet and I have to wait until GM sends me the 2nd notice to bring it in. I let them proceed with just changing the oil to see what they would put in and they used OW20.

Yep. I had the exact same experience with my dealer a few weeks ago when I took my truck in for my free oil change. They still put in 0w 20 oil.
