6.2 Recall Letter

I'm gathering up resources and getting a hold of a factory rep.
I would either show the dumb ass service advisor your recall letter or simply go to a different dealer. We all get the extended coverage for this particular engine problem regardless of what these idiots say. Just keep in mind that the extended coverage only covers this particular problem regarding the out of spec crank and bearings contained in this recall. It is NOT A COMPLETE 10 YEAR/150000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY.

I got the same letter on my 22. It just turned 48,400 miles. Taking it in Monday for test. I'm sure it will probably pass as it should have blown up by now IMO. It's still running great. Let's see.

well my POS passed the Pico test but was denied the extended warranty. The service advisor (Ozark Chevrolet, Mo.) told me that the only ones to get the extended is the 2.7ltr diesel and it only gets 100,000mi . Looks like GM is on the take again.
Check your myChevrolet app. It shows up there.

Forgot to mention that the dealer installed an update that will now flash a message if the truck is experiencing the dreaded P00016 code. It is supposed to display a message if this is occurring on the DIC so you can take your ass to the dealer quick...if you make it. :). It's part of the recall.

Interesting! It's like seeing tracer rounds over your head!

I brought my rig into this morning. I didn't think it was much of a deal to do the test. SA said it would take a good part of the day. Work order said ECM update......probably the P0016 monitoring system.

Mine took about 4 hours.

Mine took about 4 hours.
Mine took 5 hours with three updates for the ECM, infotainment and body control module. I also had my 30,000 mile service done.

Has anyone had their engine or know of anyone who've had their engine replaced under this deal? I'm pretty sure all of our engines have passed inspection unless the vehicle was brought in on a flatbed with a blown motor.

My SA said he recently had two trucks brought in with smoked motors. Theyve done several more in the past. Most are passing.

He said one of the guys truck flashed a SEL message on the DIC when he was on freeway. He shifted lanes and made it onto the off ramp lane and it completely stopped and he damn near got run over.........that's why there is a recall.......yee haw!

By the way did you do the transmission service? If so, how much?

I'm probably gonna do that on the Tahoe if it passes, but I don't think it will.
