Did you have the ‘fix’ done before this happened?

Dropped my rig off this morning for the following recalls: N252494000 (Engine Failure Risk) & N252510320 (ECM Software update). Dealer tells me they need my truck until Wednesday at the earliest. Do they really need two days to perform this service? I'm curious what steps they actually take to check the engine for defects. The entire process from making the appt to speaking with the tech is frustrating. I can't help but think they are incompetent.

I was told about 5 hours.......pico test, ecu reflash, oil change. If its not a scheduled appointment, your probably just waiting in line. Not all techs have the training to do the test, at least my dealer that is pretty good sized told me they only had a couple guys doing them.

Yeah - I used the Chevrolet App to schedule my appt because i hadn't yet received the recall letter. A notification on the app told me I needed to make the appointment and suggested I do it using the app. It was super easy, of course, the dealer claimed the didn't have the proper notification.

Just got the call that it failed the test and now have to wait for the engine which is on backorder, smh. They said it would be a few weeks at least.

Dealer just called and claimed they cannot perform the N252494000 (L87 Engine Loss of Propulsion) recall because GM is "updating the procedures." They cannot do any recall work until they are notified by GM.

Anyone hearing this? WTF

Dealer just called and said they just ordered a new engine, he said it would be in 5-7 days and it would be a priority to get it in as soon as it arrives, also they are giving me a new truck as a loaner till i get mine back, he didnt know anything about the warranty yet, mine is only the 2nd engine failure they have seen since the recall on the 6.2.
