Hey all

Putting out a question to the brains trust-

My positive and negative terminals are getting real crowded. Currently my positive has a garmin powerswitch and an air compressor wired to it.

My negative terminal has my powerswitch, ditch lights, compressor, compressor relay, and GMRS radio wired to it.

I still need to wire in 2 sets of fog lights and a winch.

My plan was to to install two big bus bars wire to the battery and earth that i could spread out my connects across, however space is tight, and it's looking like I'll need to fabricate a bracket.

However before I go to that length, has anyone got any suggestions for a pre-made mount that might do what im trying to do?
Im good at alot of things, but fab work ain't one of them.

Thanks for your help.

This works well. I've used them a few times. Pretty well made and will handle fuses and negative buss bar

Thanks for the suggestion. I dont think it'll 100% suit my application- both the winch and powerswitch draw too much current for what that's rated for.
But it's a definitely an option im going to chase up - see if there's something similar for higher current.
Thanks again

I would run the winch off the factory winch location. Have you added the extra posts to the factory distribution panel on top of the battery?

You're 100% right. Definitely will run the winch direct.

I have not, though I'm not sure I'm able to.
Roughly where would they go in this image? And if you see a spot open is there a specific part number?
Thanks for your help

The winch location is the one on the left (passenger side) the one on the right is for the factory upfitter switches. You can order just the posts and fuses in a kit on ebay. BTW you might can find it cheaper. I didn't really search around. Just posting so you know what your looking for.

Maybe you want to add a second battery. I get worried about tying everything into the main battery. I suppose if its overloaded it could be damaged. I was told that electric assembly on top of the battery is really expensive, but can't recall the exact price. Damn near impossible to change the battery anymore.

I've thought about it tbh.
However I don't think it'll be necessary, I'll hopefully never be running the winch, compressor, radio and all my lights at the same time, so the load at any time should be pretty manageable.
If I was running more things with long constant draw it'd be another story, but it'll really only be lights with brief spurts of winch and compressor.

The big draw would be the winch- I know they can get up to several hundred amps under high load.
So will have to use it smart, taking breaks. TBH I'm kinda concerned that the power wiring that was sent with the winch (Badlands Apex 12k) isn't thick enough for the application. It looks like 2awg, and the cables are pretty long to reach the battery
