Banks CAI

I've been eyeballing that too. Waiting until Black Friday to buy more Banks stuff. If I do this, it will be along with the Derringer.

I can get 20 mpg without any modifications. The real test is whether it performs when he's towing. These trucks do not get good mileage when towing heavy 8.5-9.5 mpg with 12k behind me.

If you want cheap mileage enhancements, the best bang for your buck is taking a standard 2500HD Duramax, lowering it 2-3 inches and running 285s. Reducing drag is more effective than adding power.

You are getting 20mpg at 75mph over a 200 mile stretch?
No, driving in traffic in the city! Who in the hell would drive 200 miles to buy fireworks in an HD truck. If I'm driving 200 miles, I'm going towing some fun gear getting <10mpg like Sir Isaac Newton intended.

Also, ol JB has a hard on about soot levels throughout that video, but soot levels have nothing to do with mileage at any given time. Your mileage drops when the 9th injector starts dumping fuel into the slipstream of the exhaust to heat up the DPF to burn off the traped residual particles. You'll burn an extra gallon of fuel over the 30 or 40 miles it takes to regen. Your mileage will be noticeably less.
