Now I don't consider myself a true aficionado, but I know what I like. So since we have threads on beer and whiskey, I figured I would start another fun vice conversation.

These are my three go-tos when I want to burn a stick. I'm not an every day or even once a week kinda guy, but when I'm on the road I do enjoy a whiskey and a cigar with friends.

On the left the Plasencia Reserva Original is first up. Mild compared to most that I enjoy, but if you dont want something that will rip your face off, this one pairs well with the more peaty scotch pours I enjoy. Had the pleasure of meeting Nestor Plasencia Jr a while back and there's just something about being around someone so passionate about their family brand that I think helps me enjoy what they produce that much more.

In the middle is the classic brand being represented out of the bunch, the Arturo Fuente Gran Reserva Rothschild. In my opinion you really can't go wrong with the Gran Reserva line, but when I want something with a little more punch and a shorter burn, the Rothschild hits the spot. Plus anytime I'm in Vegas you can usually catch me at the Fuente Bar at Caesars in the little sitting area at the first table sipping a whiskey and enjoying a burn. Plus it's the best seat in the house to watch jackass influencers fall in the fountain by the escalator trying to get that perfect pic. IYKYK

On the right is probably my favorite to travel with. This one is produced by Warfighter Tobacco company. Vet owned and operated, kick ass dudes that just love living life, and their operation is pretty damn close to where I life. So I naturally have to support them for all of those reasons and then some. This stick is called the Dumpster Fire. I buy them by the brick, hand them out, and every burn is different. Reason being is that they use the trimmings from all of their other cigars as the guts, so no two batches are the same. Plus how can you not love the name and the band on a cigar like that. If you want a cigar that is not a part of the rest of the crowd, I highly encourage you to check them out.

Can’t go wrong with Arturo
I preferred the Maduro in this one.
Although I’ve had to cut back.
Have heard of Warfighter but never sampled, I would though to support the vets anyway.

Always have a couple of Fuente Maduros on hand and agree you cant go wrong with them.

I'm no aficionado, but I've tried many cigars over the years. Like whisky and coffee, once I've tried them they all start to seem rhe same.

The one brand I always go to the last several years is Acid by Drew Estates. In particular, I like the blondi, earthiness, and nasty cigars. I also like the little ones they serve 10 in a tin. Great for a quick hit with a glencarin of whisky.

Drew estates Undercrown, perdomo 20th anniversary sun grown and Padron 5000 are probably my 3 favorite go to cigars.

I use to smoke several cigars a day up until I married a dental hygienist, lol. My Ex-wife is a certified tobacconist and my Uncle owns three Cigar shops here in north Alabama. The Cigar Room. If any cigar guys are passing through you should check it out. Huge selection in the Madison shop. My office building looks like a cigar warehouse because he keeps a lot of his Overstock there . One of my four wheeling buddies asked me if we had any Tabak Especial the other day and if I could grab him one or two before I drove up to camp. I walked to the back of my office and sent him this picture. He said just 1 or 2 sticks not boxes 😅

Not a bad problem to have in my book lol Just recently got introduced to Tabak. One of the guys that I hit the road with always has about a dozen of them on him. Not my fav, but if I'm looking for something that has more than a traditional flavor, its at the top of my list.

Yeah, I don't really like flavored cigars myself. Every now and then I'll smoke a Kentucky fire cured, but that's about as close as I get. We have drew estate cabinets to keep all the flavored stuff in. They aren't even allowed in the walk in humidor, lol. But they are pretty popular. Rocky patel java or a Tabak is kind of the standard for woman who come come to the lounge with their guy. Acid cigars are pretty popular though. Jonathan Drew has actually came to the shop before, which is pretty wild considering how big he's gotten. Flying pig is one of my favorite cigars. Any of the Liga stuff is really good.

I know Drew has been putting out some real good stuff and is super popular, but I just havent been able to get into them too much. Deadwood is about the only one I would grab without a mental back flip or picking something else just because. I do love seeing a lot of options on the market though. Kind of like my whiskey journey, I know what I like, but given the opportunity to take a chance on something I've never had will be something I pretty much do 9/10 times.

I don't discriminate, lol. I've tried most all of them other then some of the newer stuff. I just don't smoke enough now to keep up with everything that comes out every year. I tend to grab something I know I'll like vs trying random stuff now since I only smoke occasionally. If you want consistent. Perdomo is hard to beat. One of the few companies that not only own all their own fields, but they draw test every cigar. Nick spends a ton of money and time on quality control. They even make their own cigar boxes in house.
