My dealer is trying to hustle me on this Colorado ZR2 Bison. I'm gonna go check it out.

They might trade you even for your 1500 😅

He actually asked me if I wanted to trade it........ greedy bastards. I said, I'm not even interested in buying the Colorado.

I'll drive the 1500 for 4 more years before I take a hit on it. If you keep a vehicle 5-6 years you won't lose much, unless you got in on a bad deal. I got mine at a pretty good deal, so I'm not too worried. My lowest cost of ownership has been keeping vehicles 8-10 years, but they've never required repairs beyond normal maintenance and a few warranty items. I expect the same from these ZR2s, but worry about the janky electronics and cost to keep them on the road.

I got a good look at this little dynamo and did a test drive. This is the best ZR2 package that GM has offered by a good bit. It looks great, rides great, and the interior is way nicer. It has cloth seats that are 10x more comfortable and look very good. It's interior layout and gizmos are organized really well and makes you feel like you're in a cockpit. Not a lot of elbow room, but very comfortable.

That little 4 cylinder turbo is torquey down low, but it's a little soft when you're on plane and do roll ons. It would be really great offroad, but needs another 30 HP for higher speed highway work. I think it would be a little doggy in a 20 mph headwind trying to pass a semi truck.

They've upgraded the electronics and there's some new features. One cool feature is the map can be viewed in DIC, which would be great if you could load trail maps.

Those 35s look great and there is a lot of room inside the wheel wells for those big meats. The extra Multimatic jounces look really nice for HD offroading. I bounced across some rough terrain next to a field for about 1/2 mile and it rode great in the chop. I feel like the suspension is firmer than the 1500, not as firm as 2500HD. I think that's where this truck would shine. I don't think there's another truck off the lot that would be this capable offroad.

Pretty inexpensive compared to the 2500HD, as it was only $62k + some dealer adds. The Bison package was $11,700, which is higher because of the jounces, big tires, full size spare and bed mount.

Get you one!

I like the Colorado. For someone without kids and just needs a run about vehicle and some light utility. I think it would be spot on. Definitely the most useful off road just because of it's size and clearances. Pretty good payload for the overland folks too.
Personally I think the desert boss version is the best looking ZR2. All that said it's just to small of a truck for me. And the price for a small truck with a little 4 banger seems high to me, lol

Trailboss was only 2023.

After you buy this CoZrBi we will need to change ownership of this forum over to you
I told him I'd trade him for my SXS. He said *ok*.

I looked at some other Colorado's. Figured out that they don't come with review mirror camera, which this one needs because of that giant ass tire/wheel in back window. Also, they come with leather if you get the conceive package with ventilated seats.

Fully loaded, some of these were stickered at $65k. That included sunroof for $1000 and premium sound for $500. That's quite a price tag for a small rig with 300HP and 400 ft lbs of torque.

I meant Dessert 🍨 boss not TrailBaws

Yes it's pricey but look at the amount of cup holders you get.
