Right down the road from me. I see them all the time I guess I’ll have to give in to the brew and give them a shot. I want to say I’ve had it before but it was years ago. Way before the microbrew craze.

Yeah, its still one of my favorites, especially with a steak and seafood. Got a killer deal on the last 12 I bought!

There's a restaurant here called TexAZ Grill, owned by a guy from Texas. They got a hand dipped chicken fried steak that is awesome. The steaks are so big, you can't eat half of it. I used to get a Lonestar or Shiner everytime I was there.

Since I’m not really a beer guy, what’s a good beer that doesn’t feel like it’s just pure carbonation?

I don’t really do the craft thing so I have nothing to measure. I like Carlsberg, Guinness, Modelo, and Castlemaine back in the day if that helps for suggestions.

There are so many types and styles of beer, just like whiskey, it's all subjective. If you're drinking the store bought canned or bottled beers straight from its container there will be a lot of carbonation. You can solve that sometimes by just pouring your beer of choice in a good beer glass/mug to release all the carbonation and it will taste more like its draft counterpart, but it will not be as good or fresh as the draft version which does matter in the taste department. Some beer styles are just high in carbonation no matter what you do.

I like all those beers you had back in the day. If you really want to get into craft beer, I'd suggest experimenting just like you and jruck probably did with bourbon before you became the Aficionados of the ZR2 Bourbon drinkers. (I really appreciate your input and suggestions... and I also maybe just a little jealous of your Liquor cabinet! ) Keep in mind that Most Beer Microbreweries will give out several free samples if you grab a seat at the bar, as long as you're buying some, so it's not as expensive to go experiment like it is with liquor. Also, Some microbreweries are just horrible so don't give up after trying just one. Read reviews or ask the bartenders... Usually the brewery's number one seller is a great place to start.
