Did you know...

So I hate to say your wrong, but my phone case is magnetic, lol. It sticks anywhere on the truck but the tailgate. I actually stick it to my door pretty often. I've actually been inside all the doors installing sound deading. The skins are definitely steel. I also had my bedside replaced because a women in a jeep rear ended me a few months ago. It's all steel too.
Edited because I said metal again :ROFLMAO:

The bed sides are steel, front fenders are not. Door skins are aluminum with steel crash bars in them around the edges its reinforced with steel and welded togather.(ford paid gm tons for the tech to weld aluminum to steel) along with pieces in the front crumple zones.
Thats directly from my buddie thats a chef engineer at gm's truck development shop.

The 2025 Silverado 2500 door skin is made of aluminum, a common material used for its lightweight and strong properties in truck bodies. Aluminum is used for components like the hood, doors, and tailgate to help reduce the vehicle's overall weight.
Aluminum: The doors are constructed with aluminum, which is chosen for being both strong and lightweight.
Body construction: Other parts of the Silverado, such as the hood and tailgate, are also made of aluminum.

Mine is a 2024 HD. Maybe it's different? Not sure, but a magnet sticks to mine every where but the tailgate. Literally anywhere on the body. You actually had me curious. But a magnet sticks to the back side of the fender and hood also. No bracing or anything. Mine are definitely steel.

Can you tell your buddy to send an email to Mary From HR Barra. Tell tell her I am politely asking to quit pussifying the trucks and installing shitty unreliable parts. You can tell him to include my contact information if she needs a good consultant.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Already applied, they're not hiring( ive been a diesel mechanic/shop owner for 26 years , 9 doing vehicle development and evaluation for huyndai/kia)anybody willing to say no.
My buddie just got past they're last round of layoffs..2025 zr2 my fenders are definitely aluminum as well.as.my roof. Range extender wont stick. But I feel you.
The zr2 is gm truck number 27, between my 22 at4 3500 that i made gm buy back and my wifes denali xl I got back yesterday with a new engine.
My next truck might be something older.

Magnet also sticks to my roof. That's weird if they just quietly changed the body panels from steel to aluminum on the HDs between model year 24 to 25. I knew they changed the stamping on the Bed so it doesn't say ZR2 anymore. I didn't think much else changed though. I wonder if the curb weight and payload numbers changed any if they switched the body to aluminum? Mine is a gasser with tech package and sunroof. Curb is 7517, payload is 3333

A magnet sticks to every panel on mine sans tail gate. Maybe it’s ferrous aluminum from Chyna where they developed ferrous aluminum. 🤷‍♂️

I believe the 1500s have aluminum skins on every body panel that hinges (doors, tailgate, hood). This has been the case since 2014, if I’m not mistaken.
