I'm looking at upgrading the protection for my rockers and am considering the Rocky Road Outfitters Rock Sliders for the Chevy Trail Boss. I just purchased a 2024 ZR2 and it did not come with any sliders or steps. I have also considered the white knuckle off road sliders. I want to retain the clearance but add a step and kicker which the AEV ones do not have.
Before pulling the trigger, I wanted to see if anyone here has run these on a Silverado 1500 ZR2 (specifically with the 3.0L Duramax engine).
A couple of quick questions for the group:
Fitment: I'm looking at the Trail Boss version because it would be closest to ZR2 do these bolt right up without any clearance or mounting interference? I also was curious if the DEF tank warning was referring only to the 2500 or is that for the 1500 Duramax as well?
Install Difficulty: How involved is the installation process? Are we looking at heavy drilling, tight access points around the frame, or is it a straightforward bolt-on job?
If you're running these or have alternative slider recommendations that work seamlessly with the 3.0L ZR2 setup, I'd love to hear your thoughts and see some photos if you've got them.
