What up everyone I'm new to the forum and would like to let everybody know about the spare tire on our trucks is rubbing and the sidewall is probably compromised. My tire is only 5000 miles old and I'm not happy about it

I know there was a service bulletin on these rigs to check and remount the spare if needed. I don't know what exsctly it entailed, but it was done to mine before delivery.

It's hard to imagine how they could screw up mounting a spare, but they pulled it off. You should get a new tire under warranty.

Is it rubbing because it wasn‘t secured tightly to the underneath side of the bed? Damage to multiple areas. This kind of stuff should be figured out already. Seems like they are introducing problems never seen before or rare In past models. Ridiculous to say the least.

I found the same issue when I checked mine. Had the dealer check it, they claimed it’s normal and a non-issue.

I've got a warranty claim filed with gm. The dealership needs to live stream video on the gm app but I'm trying to get them to protect the factory rim that's mounted down and has rock chips all over it. Hopefully new tire and rim after the video, because I've been to the dealer twice for them to take pictures. But if more of us complain they will figure out how to protect that rim and tire better
