Glare off the hood

Hey All,

I was wondering if anyone has done anything to their hood (a decal maybe?)in order to prevent glare from blinding me when the sun is at certain angles.

In all seriousness...several folks have the bulge piece facing the windshield wrapped in a matte black film to keep down the glare.

That’s what I did. It’s the only real solution to such a GLARING problem.

3M Carbon Fiber wrapped insert: To be honest, I don't like how the trail boss share's the hood with the ZR2. Needs something to turn it up a bit... Anyways, it turned out very nice. I like it. Took inspiration from the ZL1. I'll see how it holds up - if anything, I'll go plain satin...

Mine is black, but I thought it would be cool to have that cowl section painted a matte red to match the flow-tie outline if I got it supercharged. Maybe someday. I will say the paint is horseshit, even with a ceramic coating.

i was gonna paint my scoop the body color when i go in for hood paint program. looks like i will have them add some flat black to the backside.

I’m going to spray Matt plastidip tomorrow as we are headed to Trappers Lake in Colorado for about ten days and when the glare hits, it hits hard!!!

My paint is horrible. I've had harder gumballs and Skittles!

I’ll rework the tape and news paper (can’t believe I even found some) to cover up everything and go again with the same textured paint I’ve used on other things on my build.

Yeah, it doesn't look right. A simple pattern that was more subtle would be better or just a matte finish.

I ordered a small roll of Xpel stealth ppf to put on the back of the hood when I get some free time. At least the back of the hood cowl is flat and shouldn’t be too hard to apply film to.

I have not experienced this and I have just over 20K miles
