I just checked my version last night and it is 12 version, it also disconnects every so often then comes back into connection every so often. hopefully gm will get their duckies in a row and get their engineering dept to do their jobs with more quality before they not test and let it fly out the door as a beta version truck experiment as we go type of thing. its getting too difficult to find a truck without all the electronic failures and this is part of it.

This headunit is being discontinued and I seriously doubt that, after 3+ years, GM will be doing any updates to fix the outstanding issues or it would have already happened. What we have is the best it will get

I am planning on keeping mine until 2028 model year unless two things happen. 1. the 2028 2500HD is updated to follow the 2027 1500 full redesign. 2. The RAM Cummins 2500HD starts to prove itself out after a year plus in service and I'll then look at a 2027-2028 RAM to replace my 2500HD. The RAM HD is getting awesome reviews and I have had two in the past that were trouble free. Time will tell as I continue to evaluate my next steps.
