Moab Trip questions

Hey guys! A couple of buddies and I are planing a trip out to Moab in late September. Wanted to reach out to see what trails are worth hitting and what we can handle. We all have off-roading experience. Mostly worried about pushing the stock ZR2 to the limit. Let me know what y’all’s experiences were like and what we should make sure to do!

We have a diverse group described below.

2024 Silverado 1500 ZR2 with Peak 2.5 summit kit and 35s
2025 Stock Silverado 1500 ZR2
2022 Ram Power Wagon on 35s
2023 F150 FX4 with 4 inch lift and 35s

I've never wheeled in Moab, just near it and canyonlands- so I can't give ya specifics.
However I would recommend scoping everything out on OnX offroad- most the trails there have been reviewed / rated by people in terms of difficulty.

Yeah I love using OnX, use it for every off-road trip. Last year we did offroad trails from Sante Fe all the way up to the Alpine loop in Telluride. I just try to info from none Jeepers lol.

I've been to Moab at least 100 times. Stop at the chamber of Commerce in the middle of town. I think it is Maine Street, Hwy191 & Center.

Hwy 191 takes you straight through town from I-70. Moab is about 35 miles south of I-70. You can also take the road to Cisco 128, which is the scenic route.

I know nothing about Onyx. Everyone likes it. All the trails have gotten harder, due to buggies and 40" tires. There are walls on most trails. A pickup will high center. The folks in the Chamber will give you a map and point you in the right direction.

I did hells revenge in my stock 22 last year in October. A lot of side by sides and a few various different style off-road trucks and jeeps. People were dumbfounded that my 22 stock ZR2 ripped it up like nothing. I might have dented my under armor a little bit but it handled every bit of that course perfectly. Looking to do elephant Hill when we come back this year.
