Lube or no lube?Fuck me....... I'm finally gonna have to download that app!
Just posted the 2 rear shocks. They are cheaper than the fronts. and there are 2 different PN's for the left and the front. There are 3 part numbers needed total. Was up at Classic my dealer for a part and had the parts folks run the VIN and print out the part numbers. Some of the GM sites show only 2 PN's the with fronts being the same PN which is incorrect.Best price I could find anywhere was just a tick under a grand each.
Thats a pretty big discount. They must have figured out nobody was buying them and just switching to aftermarket shocks. They are worth about $400 like the magneticride, but they got the price jacked up on the Tahoe too.

I've seen those prices recently on a different site. That's almost as cheap as a rebuild.
That’s actually the best price I’ve seen. Thanks!

Do you just take the old assembly to the dealer to have the have the dealer swap the coils to the new shocks or is there a safe compression tool for diy use? I don't fully trust some of the compression tools I've seen online.
Don't necessarily have to go to the dealer to get the coils swapped. Any good mechanics shop, or even a place like Monroe or Midas should have a coil spring compressor to swap the coils over to the new struts.Do you just take the old assembly to the dealer to have the have the dealer swap the coils to the new shocks or is there a safe compression tool for diy use? The shop down the road from me will let the mechanics do it for beer money on their breaks. You just drop them off and leave some cash for the boys and they get em done right quick.Don't necessarily have to go to the dealer to get the coils swapped. I have a local shop just a few blocks from me that will let me go in and use their equipment, even when they are closed as long as I can get them to unlock the doors for me.The shop down the road from me will let the mechanics do it for beer money on their breaks.
