Multimatic shocks / aftermarket replacements

I think he was a tester for them. But hopefully @ZR2CHRIS22 will reply with more details. I’m not sure who manufactures the shocks for peak, that would be another interesting thing to know.
Yep. My neighbor has been running CST lift on his new 2500HD. He said they have different valving options and he went for a softer ride and says it's really nice on this heavyweight. Shocks don't have to be complicated, it's mostly in the valving and setup.

Yeah, I’d like to know as well, I’m probably going to go with one of their kits when my multimatics crap out… at 50K miles, the ride is starting to change.

I think I read on one of Peak's YouTube videos that their partner for the shock is Elka, and that they are proud to work with them, but I may be confusing with Dirt King. Watched too many videos trying to figure out which route I wanted to go!

So has anyone here installed the ADS coilovers?
Seriously thinking about a set for my truck...
Are they dependable? Ride quality??

For everyone's information

I reached out to shock surplus - apparently trailboss suspension options will fit a zr2, which make sense because you can buy a zr2 suspension kit for a trailboss from Chevy.
You'll just need aftermarket UCAs

I’ve been testing Peak Suspension parts since 2022, and I actually had their shocks on my truck for about a year before they were even released to the public. The shocks have been running great—solid performance both on and off-road—and one of the best parts is that they’re fully rebuildable, which adds long-term value. Peak has really put in the work to make sure their suspension products hold up under real-world conditions, and my experience with them has been nothing but positive. If you’re looking for a reliable upgrade that combines durability with performance, Peak is definitely the way to go.

What's wrong with the stock Multimatic DSSV shocks?
Welp... you asked, so I'll tell you the story...
I bought the PEAK Summit 2.25 leveling/lift setup with blue aluminum UCA's.
My intent was to keep the Multimatic shocks.
I live in Maine, and encounter quite a bit of road salt and sand and slush and shit...
got everything taken apart for install and got the spring compressed on the Multimatic, got the top nut off and extracted the strut. The spring perch, much to my surprise was almost solid white with aluminum corrosion. the perch was completely fused to the shock body with corrosion. Hosed it down with kroil, brushed with wire brush, tapped around it, hosed it down, tapped, brushed, waited, repeat. Hosed it down one last time and gave a rap on the perch and it broke. the pressure I applied with the hammer (Lixie hammer with poly insert, mind you) had no business whatsoever breaking that perch off.
The truck is a 2023, purchased new in Feb of '23.
There's no way in hell I'm buying a replacement multimatic.
Ride quality was acceptable, but my money isn't going to them.
Obviously not a warranty issue with the nature of failure, but complete garbage, in my opinion.
Essentially ruined in 2 and a half years
So there she sits in the garage on stands awaiting some new struts or coilovers.

Met Nick from Peak at the Overland Expo Mountain West show today. Solid dude, stands behind his product and he owns a 1500 ZR2.

Once my wife gives me moar allowance money, Im pulling the trigger on the full kit

Yep, the Multimatic shocks should be available for <$500 and that's probably still too much.

I remember a thread a little while ago the some company was selling the Multimatic shocks, rebuilt, for a cheaper price. But they were still around $1500, if i remember correctly.

If I can find the thread, I'll post it. Or if anyone else can find it, or knows the actual price of these rebuilt shocks, please correct me.
