Hey everyone! I’m getting ready to buy a 2022 ZR2 this weekend with 61k miles in Sandstone Metallic! Yes, I’m fully aware of all the L87 issues, and this probably makes me a little dumb for wanting a 6.2l, but I can’t get over how much I love these trucks. I found a really good deal (probably because no one wants to buy these anymore) and want to know what I’m getting myself into.

I’ve read a lot of posts about the fuel pump control module, far too many posts about oil, and just making sure to do regular maintenance.

I’m currently in the Army as a combat engineer stationed at fort Riley and getting ready to move up north to JBMDL in NJ. I’m getting ready to drive 10 hours to go pick up this truck and I want to make sure I’m not gonna regret it…. Within the first two weeks of owning the truck, I’ll end up putting around 1700 miles on it, unless I pick it up from the dealer on my way to NJ.

Give me the good, the bad, and the ugly….

Thanks and pleasure to meet you all!

Congratulations and welcome. Just take care of your truck and it'll take care of you 👍

I would make sure the battery is new(ish). When they start getting weak it'll start throwing false codes. The ground straps can become corroded which will also cause codes. The fuel pump modules can go bad which is somewhat common. The stereos are pretty anemic but if you download the Infiniti audio app (thanks @laibal) it will make a huge difference.

Pickup a backup fuel control module off amazon (roughly $35-40) which beats waiting on a tow or a dealer to order one, regular oil changes 3-4K miles interval recommended, look into getting a Range Technology DFM module (disables the DFM, allows for fulltime V8 and no auto/start off) and enjoy the truck.

I'll sell you my 22 with less than 20k miles.

I'm a master tech and a farmboy! I can guarantee you won't find a better one. No matter how many car faxes you look at they won't have performed the frequent oil changes and analysis that I can provide. Nor the the balance of maintenance performed well ahead of schedule.

No rust on mine either as I live where it doesn't exist. It's mint condition and never lost a race.

Bring me high book +$5,000 and you'll have a nice trip back across the country. I'll throw in an OEM fuel pump control module that's riding shotgun under my rear seat, a $150 value.

I wish!! Absolutely beautiful truck. Only reason I’m getting from a dealer is so I can finance what I need 😂 getting the truck for $43k out the door and putting way too much money on a down payment 😂

I'll sell you mine for $53k and I'll finance you for 9.9%! If you have this truck, all the skirts with ceramic coatings and brake caliper covers on this forum would be jealous.

I keep getting offers from my dealership...the last one was 46.5k, but that is assuming it is stock.... I've got another 10k into it in parts and labor🤣 ....plus she just got new shoes 👟. After 4 years and almost 50k miles....I'm happy with the value it still holds especially after the engine debacle.

I own one and have 46k miles on it. Motor was checked out and now just uses the more expensive oil (same as the corvette I believe). Knock on wood, but mine hasn’t given me any troubles at all. Like the others have said, I keep good maintenance and regular oil changes on it and run the 92+ gasoline (which sucks). Replaced my original OE Goodyear tires recently with Nitto Grapplers which was a huge improvement (quieter, smoother riding & think they just look better).

You can run any Dexos 0W40 synthetic oil. The dealers are now using Mobil 1 0W40 FS, which is $25 per 5 quarts at Walmart. I've done oil analysis on both and they are very similar.
