New Day Another New Issue

Checked my oil last week and it was slightly off the full mark. Found it odd since for the last 3K miles, it had been spot on. So, I checked it again earlier this week and it showed even more oil lost. Gave it another look again today....even more oil lost. Right now sitting almost at a quart low. Nothing is appears to be burning and even had the wife smell the exhaust to see if she smelled anything. Nada. So today I crawl around the engine bay looking for a leak and didnt see anything. Crawl under the truck and the idler arm is coated with oil and you can see where it has landed and ran down the cross member. Tried to look around and cannot find where it's coming from. Needless to say, I have an appointment next week to take it in. This has been the most problematic vehicle I have owned and it has less than 9K miles on it.

There's been quite a few trucks over the years with loose oil temp sensors or failed seals on the that start leaking. Based on your description, I'd say that seem like a good guess. Of course there's other lines that run across that area as well from the oil filter housing. Might be an easy fix, albeit a PIA.

Hopefully they just have it for the day and get it fixed. Just tired of taking it in. Was going to change the oil tomorrow but guess Ill hold off in case they drain it to fix it.

You should buy my 1500, it's the most reliable truck in this forum next to my 2500HD!
