Does anyone have experience with ppf or any other solution for the textured lower door panels? Will ppf adhere to the textured paint. Gravel driveway and I don’t want the paint chips….thanks in advance

PPF will adhere to the textured paint. I currently have it there and on the front of the truck as well.
Truck bed liner will work too, but its not very cosmetic.

Ok thank you for the response. I have only contacted one installer and was told they can’t do the texture sections…..I will keep calling around

I installed PPF on just the lower rocker panel sections to protect the paint from my clumsy feet hitting it when I step on the running boards. Went on well, no issues.

Did you do it yourself? If you did can you tell me what product you used?

Yup, did it myself. It was pretty easy since the sections I installed were rectangular and didn't have to do any stretching or compound curves. I had the side steps installed which were the rough finish so I just covered them with aluminum foil so the microfiber towels for cleaning didn't get snagged.

Do you run mud flaps? Even small ones will help.
I would be concerned with durability of PPF, those rocks on a gravel road will come hard and fast.
Look into LineX those rockers, they have color choices now too,
But once, cry once.

I rhino lined my rockers looks amazing. Truck is white and I had the rockers painted black. The paint guy tried to talk me into doing the entire textured section. He said when he was done I wouldn’t even know. Required repaint of all the doors. I opted to wait until/if it ever need it.

Agreed I did the same on my RAM a number of years ago when I lived on a gravel road never looked back

Another option you have is to get the rocker painted with a heavy layer of hard clear. It may not stop everything, but the stock clear and paint is soft as hell and thats why it looks so bad, so fast.
