Poll: Is Lack Of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto A Dealbreaker?

Anything that eliminates technology from a vehicle is a win. Especially technology that works against your vehicle performance and your personal security. Which eliminates all current forms of technology. It won't be long before you have to sign an oath swearing allegiance to DEI, green energy, and socialism before your vehicle can be placed in drive. You won't move unless the commies say go!

Unless somebody (or me) wrecks this truck, or some catastrophic failure occurs, this will likely be my last vehicle, it has ACP and AA so it is a mute point for me and I would need to see what was available if and when the time came, but I personally like the technology.
As an EE, I am addicted to it. Technology has been my "thing" since I was 5 years old. If GM eliminates CarPlay in ICE vehicles (they are saying only electric vehicles for now), it will be my last GM truck and I'll go back to RAM.

I couldn’t care less about CarPlay/Android Auto integration if the infotainment systems were not 5 years behind SOC tech.

The systems are unusably slow in current GM vehicles.

I started using technology when the state of the art was Zenith, Coleco, Atari, Timex, Texas Instruments, and Commodore.........it's been downhill ever since!

me too....i dont even use Android Auto. i am bummed about google Nav.

I would have a problem with it. I get everybody is different on tech features, but to me android auto and Apple carplay are pretty basic features now days. If we were car shopping it could very well be a deciding factor. For anyone not wanting a dedicated subscription for their vehicle. It for sure would be a deal breaker. It's not like you can just swap out the radio like you use to.

All that said I have a data plan and the built in does do pretty much everything I need. Especially since I switched to Spotify for streaming. It's the only one that works well on the GM infotainment. My biggest complaint is the lack of apps and compatibility. Especially entertainment apps, like Netflix. I get it not while driving, but you no reason not to have that stuff available when parked. Tesla does this. Heck the new Ram has a second screen so the passenger can watch streaming while driving.

Not for me, I prefer to not use either. Just give me Bluetooth audio and built in nav and I'm good. I will say though that paying a subscription for the built in services is not great. I had a BMW with all the same built in features but no subscription.

my 21 sierra denali had a great Bose, GM nav and andoid as an option. i never used Android. GM fucked up by making Google vehicles.
