Range Technology Beta Testing

I just checked the Tahoe 6.2L and after 1000+ miles on the Range module, the mileage is returning to the mean of 15.5 mpg. My wife runs this mostly back and forth to work and errands around town. The first 500 miles we had some highway miles and it looked too be a better average for mixed driving, but alas physics always wins in the city. Still happy with the results and performance.

Make sure to unhook your battery! I finally pulled the trigger and installed one tonight. Threw a P0700 - U0146 lost communication with Gateway ‘A’ code. Took it to the local AutoZone to clear it and all is well.

Wanting to buy one but was told by Range that it is not supported yet for the 2025. Has anyone installed one yet on a 2025?

I saw a post today that they confirmed it is compatible with the 2025 year model.

I called them this morning and was told by their tech department that 2025’s were not supported yet. Guess their like every other company, haven’t got a clue what the other departments are doing.

Guess the tech went and asked since apparently he doesn’t have a clue.
LMFAO........I haven't had the heart to sell mine yet, so I ordered a second one. Got it in two days. Probably drop her in this weekend!

Got my second range installed on the ZR2. The ZR2 is easier to access the ECM than the Tahoe. Same general performance enhancements, especially with the shifting. I only got about 15 miles on it, but I think the Tahoe feels a little snapier. I think it's tuned a little different for road use.

Quick question on the Range module, is it recommended to take this out before visiting dealer for any reason? I'm curious on your thoughts with this engine recall and all what is everyone's thoughts?

I've had two of them there 3 visits for the transmission safety recall, infotainment system updates, and trim work. They scan it every time it comes in, so not sure if the software indicates a device present. My SA knows I have them in there.

Dealer probably won't say anything, but GM might. If my motor grenades, I will make an effort to remove it. That may entail a roadside removal or doing it in the dealer lot when the tow truck drops it off.

You'd have to ask Range if the module is detectable after removal. ECU may store information showing DFM was not functioning prior to motor stopping.

Thank you very much for the insight. I think ill have my tool set ready for that roadside removal as well.
