As GM gears up for the launch of the refreshed 2022 Chevy Silverado on September 9th, someone forgot to tell the parts department not to start pushing the new diagrams out to dealerships.

Passed along to us by an employee who happened upon the drawing, the diagram shows us several interesting features.

Mainly, the front end doesn’t look as radically different as we had thought. The reported demise of the Chevy sideburns and side air curtains was not correct and they will remain. We can also see that, as with the current model year trucks, multiple grill designs will feature both just a bowtie and/or the words “Chevrolet” across the front.

A new hood scoop feature has been placed directly above the front grill area along with a full-width accent stripe.

Front fog lights have been pushed closer together and the headlights are now one fully exposed piece. The hood may or may not differ from the current design.

It seems then the newly redesigned model will focus more on refinement than a big change of what the Silverado brings to the table.

A different dealership employee reports that the rest of the diagrams for the 2022 Silverado and all of the 2022 Sierra diagrams show the 2021 model in their place. It’s unknown why the front-end clip of this particular model was changed to the new design in GM’s parts system.
